I honestly don’t know what I was expecting.
Just like in my Christmas Series final thoughts article, I want to start by acknowledging the predictions I got wrong. One: the format did change. Well, for some episodes. Some of them included guest animator sketches, that feature that “brand new cast that tested well in focus group research” mentioned in the theme song. (Well, for all we know, this season could very well have been the testing). Two: the finale was not formatted much differently than the majority of episodes. There was no two-part main sketch or guest animator. But we did see a major character from the original series return, which people who watched it will probably find really cool!
I really hope this series gets renewed. Not just because I love it, but because there’s so much more I wanna see! I wanna see what they’re gonna do with Julia in PATB. I wanna see what they’re gonna do with the doctor. I wanna see what the next guest animator sketches will be. I wanna see who else, new or old, will be making comebacks in future episodes.
For now, though, I’m just happy with how this first season turned out. It’s available on Hulu if you haven’t seen it yet and want to. You really will laugh until you collapse!
